CENTRAL HEALTH UNIT - A Brief Profile

A Medicare unit of T. M. Bhagalpur University functioning under the scheme of U.G.C. welfare, providing medical facilities to students and staff of University.
The Health centre was established in 1960 at the time of the establishment of Bhagalpur University.

The centre has 3 medical officers namely Dr. Amitabh Kr. Sinha (CMO), Dr. Mridula Kumari and Dr. N. K. Poddar, assisted by 2 compounders and supporting paramedical staffs. Two specialist doctors, Dr. Harshwardhan (Eye specialist) and Dr. Hem Shankar Sharma (Cardiologist) also give advice on specified days.
The centre also has a pathology lab and a X’ray clinic, to provide investigation facilities, Apart from this, yoga classes are also being run in morning hours.
The University is running a self financed Para Medical courses at Health Centre. There are 3 courses being run namely DMLT, DMRT, DPT.
